Ian Frye’s Family Asking Planned Tribute To Not Happen

(KNOX) –A tribute for the 49-year-old Christine man who died in a car crash at the intersection of Cass County Roads 14 and 81 is scheduled for this Saturday, but the man’s family is requesting it doesn’t happen. 

The tribute is planned for Ian Frye, and it is supposed to happen at the very site where he died. Frye was killed when his car was hit by a BMW driven by a 19-year-old Grand Forks man. The teenager was going over 100mph when fleeing law enforcement. 

The tribute instructed attendees to drive by the crash site and to honk their car horn in his memory. His family says they appreciate the support they’ve received, but they are asking that no one participate in the tribute. 

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office made the announcement about the family’s request, and emphasized that the request comes directly from his family.
