74-Year-Old Esmond Man Died When Driving Pickup That Got Hit By A Train

(KNOX) –A 74-year-old Esmond man died last Saturday when he was driving a pickup truck that got hit by a train. The truck was stuck at a railroad crossing in Wells County. 

The crash happened nearly five miles northeast of Harvey. A 2022 Chevrolet Silverado was on the railroad tracks when a BNSF train hit the driver’s side of the truck. The man died from his injuries. 

The North Dakota Highway Patrol says the railroad crossing was uncontrolled and marked with yield signs. The crash is being investigated.
