The North Dakota Highway Patrol says a Jamestown man faces numerous charges after a Monday night pursuit in Stutsman County that landed him in a hospital.
A trooper tried to stop 22-year-old Austin Perleberg Hunt for driving 98 miles per hour on I-94 near Jamestown around 7:30 PM, but he fled in a car that was reported stolen.
When the car got stuck in a slough, officials say Perleberg Hunt waded or swam across the water to hide, but was located 90 minutes later. He wound up in a Fargo hospital with severe hypothermia.
Hunt is charged with felony fleeing, reckless endangerment, possession of drug paraphernalia, possessing stolen property, misdemeanor driving under suspension and resisting arrest.
At the time, Perleberg Hunt had warrants for his arrest from Burleigh, Eddy and Stutsman Counties and the Jamestown P-D. He is currently in custody at the Stutsman County Jail.
