(KNOX) –A North Dakota widow is suing the federal government over her husband’s death when he allegedly slipped on ice at the Grand Forks Post Office.
Julie Hill filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the District of North Dakota against the General Services Administration. The defendants have not responded to the allegations.
A complaint says that Richard Hill went to the Grand Forks Post Office in January 2025 to deliver a package. He apparently fell on walking surfaces around the loading docks that were covered in snow and ice. He is said to have suffered permanent injuries, such as a traumatic brain injury. The lawsuit says that he died from the injuries on September 3rd.
The complaint accuses them of allowing the snow and ice to be dangerous and they should have better handled safety concerns. It also says that the GSA was negligent.
The lawsuit says that Julie Hill, Richard Hill and his heirs suffered physical, emotional, and economic damage. Hill is asking for at least $75,000 in damages.
