The face of a former grocery store in Grand Forks has come crashing down.
The City of Grand Forks has issued a building permit to ALDI Inc. for a $2,000,000 dollar interior fit-up of the retail space at 2771 32nd Avenue South.
The ALDI grocery store chain has been rumored to be looking for a Grand Forks location.
In February the company announced plans to expand into 100 new stores nationwide in 2021. ALDI currently has more than 2,000 stores across 37 states. The company claims to be on track to become the third-largest grocery retailer by store count by the end of 2022.
The Grand Forks site undergoing construction was most recently a Hornbachers and Super One store.
