(KNOX) –Grand Forks Mayor Brandon Bochenski was asked on Tuesday about an update regarding an important announcement about the future of the Columbia Mall in Grand Forks. Bochenski tells KNOX’s Critical Thought with Noah Chelliah that he currently can not say anything about its future, since there is currently a hold on a bank approving the sale of the mall.
The mall is owned by Chicago-based company GK Development. Bochenski has had several meetings in the past with this company, where he’s even flown to Chicago to discuss the mall’s future. He has said before that he’s not a fan of GK Development.
Bochenski originally said that an announcement about the mall was going to come in July.
