Authorities say a Langdon man was seriously injured when the pickup truck he was driving was struck by a BNSF train at a crossing west of Grand Forks. The North Dakota Highway Patrol says the crash happened shortly after 9 a.m. Friday. Thirty-four-year-old Ryan Wagner was crossing the tracks when the pickup was struck on the left side. The collision caused the vehicle to break apart and overturn. Wagner was transported to a Grand Forks hospital with life-threatening injuries. Authorities say the rail crossing is marked with crossbucks and a yield sign. The BNSF train consisted of one locomotive and 85 empty hopper cars. No train crew members were injured.
