(KNOX) – Career Impact Academy director Eric Ripley says the program has had a successful first year. Grand Forks Public Schools’ Career Technical Academy, also known as CIA, has established itself as an opportunity for students looking to develop their professional skills.Â
Roughly 500 students took CIA courses over the last year in fields like in health sciences, automotive work, information technology and building trades. More than 700 students have pre-registered for the program for the 2026-2027 school year.
CIA Courses are held at a $30 million facility located near Gateway Drive and 42nd Street. The facility was funded by local community investments and an $11 million match from the state.
