North Dakota Right To Life Executive Director Bridget Turbide Joins KNOX To Discuss Measure 1

By Alex Carmenaty Oct 21, 2026 | 7:21 AM

(KNOX) – One of the two measures that North Dakotans will vote on this year would change the voter threshold from a simple majority to a 60 percent requirement to pass future constitutional ballot measures if approved. Bridget Turbide is the Executive Director of the North Dakota Right To Life, and the organization she is a part of supports Measure 1. She tells KNOX’s Aaron McWilliams that a liberal out of state organization is trying to influence whether or not Measure 1 passes.

Turbide also says The Fairness Project has been successful in getting other states to include items like abortion amendments into their constitution.

Conservative states like Missouri, Montana, and Ohio passed abortion amendments with a simple majority, but a state like Florida did not pass an abortion amendment because it requires 60 percent of a vote to amend its state constitution.

Early voting is happening now across the state, and election day is November 3rd.
