With flooding this spring unlikely the Grand Forks Engineering Department is recommending the council hold off on awarding bids to assist in flood fighting activities.
The city council received an update on the upcoming flood season last night (Monday). The latest analysis from the River Forecast Center suggests only a 40% chance of the Red River even hitting flood stage this spring.
The city typically awards bids for three separate projects: flood fighting…sandbags…..and crushed concrete.
City Engineer Al Grasser says crews will monitor the situation and if something changes will bring the bids back for council approval.
