A Fargo man is in jail in Grand Forks County after leading multiple agencies on a high speed chase early this morning (Saturday).
A deputy with the Grand Forks Sheriff’s Department spotted the driver of a stolen vehicle near Thompson (ND) shortly before 2:00 a.m. The suspect refused to stop on Highway 15 and fled for multiple miles down various roads before heading south on I-29.
Law enforcement made several attempts to disable the vehicle using spike strips. At one point the suspect evaded the strips by driving through a ditch. Authorities say the fleeing vehicle reached speeds of 120 mph.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol and Cass County deputies joined the pursuit and successfully deployed spike strips near the milepost 66 exit ramp. The pursuit lasted 57 minutes and covered 75 miles.
The GFSO identified the suspect as Ahmed Hussan. He is charged with felony fleeing a police officer…possession of stolen property…reckless endangerment…and driving under suspension. Hussan was transported to the Grand Forks County Correctional Center.
