The Grand Forks School District didn’t have to go too far to find a new Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education.
Devils Lake Superintendent Matt Bakke will fill the role being vacated by Brenda Lewis who is leaving to become the new Superintendent of Schools in Fridley (MN).
Bakke is a Grand Forks native and graduate of the University of North Dakota. He was selected to lead the Devils Lake school system in July 2020. He previously served as Superintendent of the Manvel Public School District.
Bakke’s appointment is subject to school board approval.
