ND law enforcement to target drugged drivers

By Doug Barrett Apr 19, 2022 | 8:24 AM

To coincide with the”420” date North Dakota law enforcement agencies have launched another high visibility campaign on the highways.
April 20th has become synonymous with increased marijuana use among users. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says 56% of drivers involved in serious injury and fatal crashes in 2020 tested positive for at least one drug.
The Grand Forks Police Department issued 766 citations for drugs and paraphernalia last year. That compares to 270 just ten years ago.
The enforcement event runs from today (Monday) through Wednesday.
