29-Year-Old Man Sentenced to 15 Years in Prison

(KNOX) -A 29-year-old man was sentenced to 15 years in prison after he was convicted of gross sexual imposition of an unconscious victim.

Dylon Julius Tetzloff lived in Grand Forks for five months before his arrest in 2025. He pleaded guilty to the Class A felony charge in January.

Prosecutors reached a plea deal with Tetzloff and his attorney that will result in five years of the sentence being suspended, and nearly a year in credit for time served. Tetzloff has been imprisoned since he was arrested last year.

Tetzloff climbed on top of, kissed and attempted to remove the pants of a 17-year-old girl in a Grand Forks hotel room. The teenager was recovering from surgery at the time.

The victim and her mother were staying at the hotel after both of them fled their home because of a domestic situation. Tetzloff was alone with the teenager while her mother sought help from the Grand Forks Community Violence Intervention Center.

The judge also says that having Tetzloff in prison will require him to complete sex offender treatment and education courses. He will serve five years of probation after being in prison and he will need to register as a sex offender
