North Dakota Democrats are struggling to stay relevant in a conservative state where their presence has dwindled sharply in recent years and where finding candidates to take on entrenched GOP incumbents is difficult. The party opens its state convention Thursday in Minot. One idea from new party Chairman Patrick Hart is to get people to do short videos on social media proclaiming their pride in being a Democrat. He said it would help other Democrats know they are not alone in the highly conservative state.
