Grand Forks County Commission Voting Tomorrow On Ray Richards Golf Course Redevelopment Program

(KNOX) – The Grand Forks County Commission will be voting tomorrow on whether to support the Ray Richards Golf Course Redevelopment Program. The investors are looking to receive a 20 year, 90 percent PILOT to build new apartments and a driving range at and around the golf course owned by UND. The County Commission, as well as the Grand Forks School Boards and Grand Forks City Council all must vote to approve in order for the project to go through. Grand Forks County Commissioner Terry Bjerke plans to vote against the project. The University says they are losing money on the golf course, and Bjerke believes UND is getting a tax break.   

After the County Commission votes, the City Council will vote on the project on September 8th. Tuesday’s County Commission Meeting will be at the county office building and it starts at 4pm.
