(KNOX) – The U.S. Senate has passed a bill that will give the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library Federal support. The bill was introduced by Senator John Hoeven and cosponsored by Senator Kevin Cramer. It provides grants to the library and allows it to display federal artifacts.
It also requires the library to match federal funding 2:1 and it does not allow federal dollars to be used for operating costs.
The library opens to the public July 4 as part of celebrations for America’s 250th birthday. The library is being built in Medora, and President Donald Trump will attend the library’s dedication ceremony on July 1.
