(KNOX) – Thursday the Grand Forks Regional SWAT Team served a high-risk arrest warrant on Cherry Street. They were looking for 40 year-old Ryan Schaf of Grand Forks, who had multiple Grand Forks County felony warrants.

The officers were able to surround the residence where Schaf was he had barricaded himself. Officers attempted contact with him with no response.

A chemical irritant was deployed into the structure in an attempt to get him to come out but to no effect. A light and sound diversionary device was also deployed outside the house with no effect. Officers attempted contact again with the suspect with no answer.

At that point officers made entry into the structure and located the male hiding in an interior room where he was taken into custody without further incident.
