(KNOX) – Multiple law enforcement agencies participated in the arrest a wanted man in Minot Sunday night.
Minot police received word from the U.S. Marshal’s Service that 33 year old Bounchanh Halsana was on an Amtrak train. Halsana had a full extraditable warrant issued by the state of Utah. He was identified as a violent Crips gang member – and one of Salt Lake City’s most wanted fugitives.
Authorities say the suspect had recently fled from law enforcement in three other states. Around 9:30 p.m.Halsana was located and taken into custody following a brief foot pursuit after exiting the train.
The operation involved the following agencies: Minot Police Department, Ward County Narcotics Task Force, Minot SWAT, Minot Fire Department, Homeland Security Investigations, Amtrak Police Department, Salt Lake City Police Department Gang Unit, and the United States Marshals Service – Utah District, Seattle District, and District of Western Washington.
