(KNOX) –Part of Minnesota Highway 59 south of Erskine will be closed for roughly two weeks. Crews are making emergency repairs to a section of the roadway shoulder near Lake Bensen.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation says that crews will repair a section of an eroding roadway embankment when they install deeper sheet piling. This will reinforce the soil and restore a stable slope along the highway. Lower lake levels are reducing natural support that would typically help hold together the roadway embankment.
There is a detour for traffic and it will be routed onto Polk County Road 34 near Bradley Lake through County Roads 41 and 206.
