(Valley News Live) -A Fargo man is accused of smashing a woman’s car window with a brick and showing a gun outside a south Fargo apartment.

According to documents, police were called around 10:35 a.m. July 19 to 3502 Interstate Blvd. S.

The woman told officers she had driven Enrique Ballard from Minneapolis to Fargo and let him use her phone. When she saw him deleting apps and contacts, she took the phone back. Ballard then picked up a brick and threw it through her SUV’s window, according to court documents.

The documents say Ballard then lifted his shirt and showed a black handgun, making her fear for her life. She told officers he went into an apartment and yelled threats about going to her home and damaging her property.

Officers found the SUV with a shattered window and damaged interior. Documents say they located Ballard around 11:04 a.m. and obtained a search warrant.

Police say they found a black Canik pistol with a magazine in a bedroom. Investigators later learned the gun had been reported stolen in December 2025. Officers also reported finding suspected fentanyl and marijuana.

Documents say Ballard was arrested at 2:03 p.m. and taken to the Cass County Jail. He is charged with terrorizing with a dangerous weapon and criminal mischief.

In an interview, Ballard admitted throwing a rock at the vehicle but denied having or showing a gun. He said he is not allowed to have firearms because of prior felony charges and told investigators the gun in the apartment was not his.
