(KNOX) –The Moorhead Police Department is looking into how a man’s body ended up in the Red River early Wednesday.
Emergency responders were called to the river near 1st Avenue North at around 1 a.m. First responders quickly found and recovered a body from the river.
The man’s body was taken to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office for evaluation and to help determine how he died.
Police say there are currently no clear signs of trauma, and investigators are working to both confirm the man’s identity and contact his family.
The Moorhead Police Department is actively investigating.
