(KNOX) – Cavalier County motorists are frustrated with a road construction project on Highway 1.
The state highway between Nekoma and Langdon is being rebuilt, with Knife River Materials executing the project. However, area motorists and producers are upset with the current condition of the road.
Complaints include semis becoming stuck and heavy ag equipment being diverted onto gravel roads that are said to be already strained for various reasons.
The North Dakota Department of Transportation has reduced the speed limit to just 25 miles-per-hour in the most difficult section, and has also made a trip to assess the road conditions.
