(KNOX) – Tucker Lovejoy scored a hat-trick and East Grand Forks scored three times in the first period on just eight shots in a 6-0 win over Thief River Falls Tuesday at Civic Center Arena.
Cy Hjelmen and Jace Panzer each had first-period goals as well as Lovejoy, who tacked on two more in the third.
East Grand Forks outshot the Prowlers 29-23 in the win, allowing just 10 shots after the first period.
The Greenwave are showing signs of being on the rise. They have won seven of their last eight games, including reversing an earlier loss to Detroit Lakes, knocking off Grand Forks Red River, and dominating Roseau, St. Cloud Cathedral, and Thief River Falls in three straight. The last three wins have been by either five or six goals.
East Grand Forks will see another test Friday. They host Hibbing, the state’s top-ranked “A” team in some polls. The game will be seen on KNOXRadio.com, as well as KNOX TV on YouTube.
