(North Dakota Monitor) – The North Dakota Attorney General’s Office on Friday ordered a Fargo nonprofit to stop promoting certain abortion pill providers on its website.
The order accuses the Prairie Abortion Fund of violating a state consumer protection law by including links on its website to sites where counterfeit pills may be purchased without a prescription or the oversight or a doctor.
Caitlin Wachsmuth, co-chair of Prairie Abortion Fund’s board, said Friday afternoon the organization was holding off on speaking publicly about the cease-and-desist order until it could seek input from legal counsel.
Abortion is almost entirely illegal in North Dakota. There is no abortion clinic operating in the state.
