Knutson Printing Gets Go-Ahead for Rebuild

(KNOX) – The Grand Forks City Council gave final approval Monday to move that allows Knutson Printing to rebuild its print shop on University Avenue.

The building was heavily damaged by a fire in January. The council agreed to rezone the property at 1323 University from residential to a B-1 or limited business district.

One point of contention involved a second floor apartment. The Planning & Zoning Commission earlier this month asked that a provision to prohibit residential rental uses on site be removed from the PUD.

Council member Rebecca Osowski says the owners are agreeable to the no rental use and there’s nothing that would prevent them down the road to request a change.

The council voted 7-0 to include the no rental provision in the PUD.
