
A 29 year old Detroit (MI) man has been sentenced to 14 years in federal prison for his role in a drug trafficking ring.
Romel Rambus is accused of having a leadership role that targeted two of North Dakota’s Native American Reservations. Rambus pled guilty to Conspiracy to Distribute and Possess with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance and Money Laundering Conspiracy.
Over forty defendants were charged for their involvement in the sale of thousands of oxycodone and fentanyl pills — all defendants have entered pleas of guilty or signed plea agreements with the intent to plead guilty.
U.S. Attorney Mac Schneider says the sentence should send the message to those who target tribal communities that instead of short-term profits you can expect a long-term stay in federal prison.
