The Polk County Sheriff’s Department has released the name of the man who was shot and killed at a rural East Grand Forks home as 42 year old Lucas Gilbertson. UND Forensic Pathology made the positive ID.
Law enforcement went to the Rhinehart Township home on Tuesday armed with an arrest warrant for Gilbertson. Authorities say he exited the residence and proceeded to go back inside followed by an officer where he was shot. He died later at Altru Hospital.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is running the investigation.
