MN man remains at large after murder conviction

By Pat Sweeney Feb 15, 2023 | 12:15 PM

Authorities are still searching for a Windom, Minnesota, man who on Tuesday was convicted of murder in Cottonwood County.

After a week-long jury trial, 58-year-old Ralph Apmann was found guilty of second-degree unintentional murder in connection with the 2021 death of Juan Rivera outside a bar in Windom.

Minnesota’s Bureau of Criminal Apprehension says Apmann failed to appear for that trial on Monday.

Authorities say Apmann is armed with a 9-millimeter handgun and an AR-15 rifle… and he may be in the Twin Cities metro area.

Apmann is 5-foot-10, 230 pounds, with grey hair and hazel eyes.

The B-C-A says Apmann should not be approached.
