Funeral services are scheduled September 16th for former East Grand Forks Mayor Lynn Stauss.
Stauss died Sunday at the age of 77. He served 21 years as mayor. He decided not to seek reelection in 2016 for health reasons.
Stauss helped lead the city through the devastating 1997 flood. He was instrumental in helping the city recover and rebuild.
In 1970 Stauss was deployed to Vietnam where he served as a Medical Corpsman and drove an ambulance to pick up wounded soldiers. He was awarded a Bronze Star for meritorious service in a combat zone.
Funeral Service: Hope Church, 1601 17th Ave South
Visitation: 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Church on Friday
Burial: Reserrection Cemetery, East Grand Forks
