The preliminary numbers suggest 7,035 votes were cast in Grand Forks County on Tuesday. That was less than the 14,188 ballots filled out in June 2020 – and just shy of 9,000 in 2018.
Grand Forks Auditor Deb Nelson says the election and counting of ballots went smoothly. “I think it went very well…and we were done around 9:30 p.m.”
Nelson says they also had a chance to test out some new gear this week. “We did have new equipment that we have never deployed to voting sites before. That was a little bit of a learning curve.”
No changes are expected for the November Election.
