A Minnesota House bill would pay homage to Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Prince by renaming part of a Chanhassen highway the “Prince Rogers Nelson Memorial Highway.”
Chanhassen is the home of Paisley Park, the residence of the music icon who died in 2016, at age 57.
Republican Rep. Greg Boe of Chanhassen told a House Committee that money for road signs has already been raised.
He hopes the signs would be purple in color, instead of MnDOT’s usual brown, which is used for tourist information.
The bill was held over by the House Transportation Finance and Policy Committee Tuesday for possible omnibus bill inclusion.
A companion bill awaits action in a Senate committee.
