A Democratic candidate for Congress in Minnesota is suspending his campaign until further notice.
Mark Lindquist says he plans to travel to Poland on a humanitarian mission to assist Ukrainian refugees fleeing the war with Russia.
In a social media post Lindquist added “In order to fully concentrate on the mission at hand in Poland and Ukraine, this is the best thing for me right now. I simply feel like this is where I’m needed most.”
As for his future political aspirations Lindquist says “The least of concerns right now is American politics.”
Lindquist announced his candidacy for Minnesota’s 7th District in July of last year.
