By Doug Barrett Mar 11, 2022 | 8:53 AM

The Grand Forks Airport landed an award at the recent FLY-ND aviation conference.  The GFK was recognized as North Dakota’s “2021 Commercial Service Airport of the Year.”

The award is sponsored by the North Dakota Aeronautics Commission in partnership with the Airport Association of North Dakota.

As the home of the University of North Dakota’s School of Aerospace Sciences, hundreds of student pilots take to the skies over Grand Forks each semester.  The airport was ranked as the 12th busiest airport in the country for 2021 with 349,405 successful takeoffs and landings.
