By Doug Barrett Sep 2, 2021 | 8:28 AM

The calendar says it’s still summer but the meteorological start to fall is September 1st.  The National Weather Service says Grand Forks wrapped up June…July…and August with a mean temp of 72.1 degrees.  It marks the second warmest summer on record up and down the Red River Valley.

The record mean was 73.9 degrees in 1988.

The Grand Forks Airport recorded two days of 100 plus readings and 25 days of exceeding the 90 degree mark.
