North Dakota Board of Higher Education Approves New University Presidents at VCSU and NDSCS

(KNOX) – The North Dakota Board of Higher Education voted to approve Allen Burgad as Valley City State University’s President and Lisa Karch to be President of the North Dakota State College of Sciences.

The board unanimously voted to appoint Burgad after serving as interim university president since last December. 

Burgad had previously been the dean of VCSU’s School of Education, and he will succeed Dr. Alan LaFave. LaFave is the current university president of Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota.

Karch was the interim president for NDSCS since July. She has served in the past at NDSCS as executive vice president of academic affairs and vice president for instructional affairs. She also used to be a facility member and administrator at Minnesota State University Moorhead.
