(KNOX) – Vice President JD Vance has canceled his planned press conference appearance today in St. Cloud, Minnesota. The Vice President’s office announced yesterday that he was going to speak about the White House’s “War on Fraud.” Vance heads the White House Task Force to Eliminate Fraud, and other members of the task force were also going to be there with him.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Minnesota announced his cancellation and didn’t provide a reason for it.
Instead of Vance, Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent and FBI Director Kash Patel will be speaking at a press conference about fraud at 1pm in St.Cloud. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz and Federal Trade Commission Chairman Andrew Ferguson will also be in attendance.
Vance was going to visit Minnesota days before next Tuesday’s midterm elections; which includes a Governor’s race between Lisa Demuth and Amy Klobuchar, a U.S. Senate Race featuring Michele Tafoya and Peggy Flanagan, and a Congressional Race in Minnesota’s 7th District between Michelle Fischbach and Erik Osberg.
Vance and President Donald Trump made a campaign stop in St. Cloud two years ago leading up to the 2024 Presidential election.
