Grand Forks City Council President Dana Sande Joins KNOX And Addresses Facebook Comments On Post By Grand Forks Public Schools Accountability Project

(KNOX) – Grand Forks City Council President Dana Sande joined The Ryan Cunningham Show on Wednesday and addressed his since deleted Facebook comments on a post by the Grand Forks Public Schools Accountability Project. Sande’s comments were related to how many Grand Forks Public Schools students are considered to be special needs students and wondering how many claims for an IEP (Individualized Education Program) are legitimate. He has since apologized for his comments, and has said he could have worded what he was trying to communicate in a better way. He explains what his intentions were.

Sande’s motivation to comment on social media was to point out how many Grand Forks students are on IEP’s.

Sande says that he has been trying to reconcile with members of the public who were not happy with his comments, and that some community members don’t want to have a conversation with him. His full comments on the Ryan Cunningham Show can be heard throughout all the audio segments below.
