(KNOX) –A Polk County corrections officer is facing charges on allegations of sexually assaulting two inmates.
49-year-old Irving Emmanuel Jacobo Bravo worked at the Northwest Regional Corrections Center in Crookston. He is facing two counts of third degree criminal sexual conduct in a prohibited occupational relationship.
Court documents say two female inmates at the corrections center reported that they were sexually assaulted on September 11th between 3pm and 4pm.
Both women say he was acting inappropriately for several weeks, where Bravo would go out of his way to visit their shared cell. He apparently brought a medical request form on September 11th, and he would also bring them items like candy, tobacco and razors.
Both women participated in a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner exam, and it apparently found Y-chromosomal profiles that matched to Bravo.
Court documents also say that law enforcement spoke with a witness who says that Bravo admitted to touching one of them. The witness claims that Bravo was concerned about the investigation since “he actually did do something.”
Bravo was booked by the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office last Friday, but he has been released on bond. His initial court appearance is scheduled over Zoom on October 6th at 9am.
