(KNOX) –A 24-year-old Moorhead man who was facing three Class C Felonies in a four person crash in Fargo has died from his injuries. Elijah Baumann was apparently driving under the influence and was not wearing a seat belt last Sunday on University Drive.
He was driving 120mph in a 45 mph zone, when he hit a 19-year-old on a motorcycle, and then hit an SUV. Baumann was going north in a southbound lane, and was fleeing law enforcement.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office believed that he was associated with or a supporter of the street racing group 701’s Most Wanted.
The 19-year-old is dealing with life-threatening injuries, where he lost his left leg below his knee and he also has a shattered arm.
Two other people involved in the crash suffered injuries and their status is unknown.
