(KNOX) –The East Grand Forks Economic Development Authority is reporting that several startups are becoming established businesses in the city. Since January, there have been 17 prospects, and 65 percent of them have become established.
The EDA said in August five personal care businesses, three dispensaries, three service businesses, three retail locations and a restaurant were among 15 startups that ended up becoming full time establishments.
East Grand Forks’ economic development director Maggie Brockling says more buildings have been coming into the city and changing owners, and there have been a larger number of construction and commercial renovation permits issued this year.
Brockling also says there are over 200 businesses in East Grand Forks, and roughly 25 percent of the local economy are startups.
