(Valley News Live) — The North Dakota Emergency Commission is set to consider a request for nearly $6 million in disaster-related funding at its meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 23, according to the commission’s agenda.
The North Dakota Office of the Adjutant General’s Department of Emergency Services is seeking an increase in spending authority of $5,940,000 in federal funds in the Disaster Costs Line, along with an increase of $936,000 in Disaster Relief Funds in the same line, according to the agenda.
Of that request, $5,700,000 is designated for Public Assistance Funding, and $1,176,000 is designated for Hazard Mitigation Funding, contingent upon FEMA approval, the agenda states.
The request is one of five items on the Emergency Commission’s revised agenda for the meeting, which is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the State Capitol in Bismarck. Under state law, approved requests marked with an asterisk will be forwarded to the Legislative Budget Section committee for its Sept. 30 meeting.
