Driver Arrested After Going Wrong Way On I-29 North Of Grand Forks

(KNOX) –A driver was arrested after they were seen going the wrong way on Interstate 29 north of Grand Forks.

Just after midnight on Thursday, other drivers reported seeing a vehicle going southbound in the northbound lanes near mile marker 171. 

The vehicle came to a stop in the median, and North Dakota Highway Patrol troopers found open containers inside the driver’s vehicle. They saw a beer bottle that was wedged behind the brake pedal.

The driver failed several field sobriety tests and was arrested for both DUI/APC (Actual Physical Control) and APC Refusal. The driver has not been identified.
