(KNOX) –Grand Forks Police responded to a report of three gunshots on Tuesday night. The officers were called at around 10:15pm to the 1700 block of Continental Drive. Officers found a man who admitted to shooting a handgun into the air in order to break up a fight. The firearm was taken, and all the people who were involved were interviewed on scene.
Investigators say there was a fight between several people. Police say the gun was not used to threaten anyone and it was not directed towards anyone. Several witnesses confirmed that claim, and no one was arrested.
The case is being investigated and officers will decide if charges will be filed. There were no injuries and there is no threat to the public.
