(KNOX) –Deeks Pizza will be hosting its back to school fundraiser all week long, but all of its sales for today only will go to benefit students who attend both Grand Forks Public Schools and East Grand Forks Public Schools.
This is the sixth year the fundraising has been happening, and it has raised roughly $50,000 just for the Grand Forks public schools. The money is distributed by the Foundation for Education. They used a weighted metric that is based on how many students attend at each school, and how many of those students receive a free or reduced lunch. Each school building’s principal decides how the money is spent.
Customers can also purchase gift cards up until August 31st. All of the sales made in gift cards will also go to the schools.
Deeks is also accepting direct donations that will go to the districts through Venmo, and donations can be made by searching on Venmo for @DeeksPizza.
Deeks is only in Grand Forks and is open from 11 am to 3am daily. The restaurant is located at 512 North Washington Street.
