(KNOX) –Minnesota voters will be heading to the polls today to cast their votes in the Gubernatorial and U.S. Senate primary elections. Climax resident Mike Corbo is a Republican who supports Kendall Qualls and Adam Schwarze because they are both the GOP endorsed candidates.
Corbo is passionate about a lot of issues that are defining this year’s elections. He feels strongly about how taxpayer money is being spent.
A Central Minnesota Dairy Farmer is also voting for Qualls. Buckman resident Sawyer Winscher was impressed with what he had to say about helping rural farmers.
East Grand Forks resident Rick Stomberg plans on supporting whoever the Republican nominees are because he is not happy with the direction the state is going.
He also says he will not support U.S. Senator and DFL Candidate Amy Klobuchar.
The polls will be open until 8pm. The winners of today’s primary will run in the November general election.
Meanwhile, record early voting numbers have been reported for this year’s Minnesota primary elections. Secretary of State Steve Simon says that 206,196 people have voted, which is the most in a state primary when it isn’t a presidential election year.
