MSHSL Girls and Boys State Basketball Tournaments Starting Late in 2027

(KNOX) –The Minnesota State High School League says both the girls and boys state basketball tournaments will start one week later than usual in 2027.

The girls basketball state tournament is scheduled from March 24 to March 27, and the boys basketball state tournament will happen from March 31 through April 3.

This is because of expected NCAA Men’s and Women’s National Tournament Basketball games. The University of Minnesota Women’s Basketball team played at the Williams area, and they could be hosting games from March 17 through March 20. The Target Center will be hosting first and second round men’s games from March 18-March 21.

All winners bracket games, including championship matchups are played at Target Center and Williams Arena in Minneapolis.
