East Grand Forks City Council Makes Several Approvals

(KNOX) –The East Grand Forks City Council approved their proposed 2026-2027 winter recreation fees and schedules. This includes a 3% increase in figure skating and hockey fees. A pre-season hockey skill development session will be offered instead of pre-season clinics. They have also approved authorizing the signature of the fire and rescue services mutual aid agreements they have with both the Warren and Alvarado fire departments.

The East Grand Forks City Council approved authorizing engineering company Widseth to prepare a project memorandum that will have plans and specifications for a construction project. The project will be for ADA improvements and street construction along DeMers and Central Avenues that will go from Fourth Street Northwest to U.S. Highway 2. The city was given a $1.04 million grant, and the project is expected to cost $1.4 million.

The East Grand Forks City Council on Tuesday also approved a resolution that appoints adding more election judges for the August 11 primary election and November 3 general election. They also approved a special event application for the Nick Minske Memorial Run on August 15. That will include a temporary road closure on part of Fourth Street Northwest near Up North Pizza from 5pm-10 pm.
