(KNOX) – A Baltimore, Maryland woman was arrested on Sunday after authorities say she tried to drown her teenage daughter in West Battle Lake.
The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a domestic assault. Deputies say 35-year-old Jasmine Laws tried to drown her 15-year-old daughter during an altercation on the lake.
Laws was arrested on domestic assault charges that include strangulation, and she’s also facing second-degree attempted murder. Formal charges have not yet been filed.
The girl was transported to Lake Region Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The incident is being investigated by the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office.
