(KNOX) –A fire destroyed a barn early Saturday morning in Emerado. Emerado firefighters were dispatched at 1:13 a.m. to 17th Ave. NE. Crews found a fire that was coming from the second story of the barn. The second story of the structure began to collapse as firefighters started to try to put out the fire. The fire was fully put out more than four hours later.
The Emerado fire department requested assistance from both the Grand Forks Air Force Base Fire Department and the Larimore Volunteer Fire Department. The Grand Forks County Sheriff’s Office, Altru Health System Ambulance, and Nodak Electric also helped with the fire.
The barn was built around 1905, and it is a total loss. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
